The Materials Exchange Program is a FREE service helping Nebraska business and industry reduce landfill impact by diverting reusable materials. Participants contact the Exchange seeking or generating waste materials like plastic, rubber, metal or sawdust, and we in turn connect them with potential partners on the other
The program also facilitates the donation of equipment, furniture and supplies to Nebraska schools, and nonprofit organizations. Donors contact the Exchange with gently used but serviceable items like printers, chairs, or file folders. We in turn, reach out to more than 275 participating organizations across Nebraska, providing contact info only to those that reply expressing interest. Items are generally spoken for the day they are offered, and donation receipts are available upon request. Last year alone, 82 different organizations received 1775 items worth more than $48,000, largely at yard sale prices.
